Today’s Dose of Hope: Chosen

Hi friend, in case you need a reminder of your awesomeness:

God chose you, and we keep praying that God will make you worthy of being his people. We pray for God’s power to help you do all the good things you hope to do and your faith makes you want to do. Then, because of the undeserved grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, you will bring honor to the name of our Lord Jesus, and he will bring honor to you. (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 CEV)

God chose you.

I’ve been praying this verse as well but substituting “me” for “you” something like this…

“Thank you for choosing me. I am praying that you will make me worthy of being yours..”

Now you know when you love Jesus you’re already worthy. And you know you’re already His.

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the powerof the life-giving Spirit has freed youfrom the power of sin that leads to death. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” – Romans 8:1-2, 15 (NLT)

So I’m talking more like “continue to help me become more and more like you” in the loving God and loving others departments, in the living life and flourishing department, in the being an awesome fiance, friend, sister, daughter, cousin, niece department, in the using my passions and gifts on a daily basis department, in the having a job I love department, and in the overall loving life department.

Here’s why I love about this verse: God chose us and He wants to help us do those things. And best yet, it’s all by His grace and not by our actually achieving any sort of perfection. He’s just going to freely give us the love, power, and whatever we need to keep on being more and more like Him: to grow in faith, to grow in love, to grow in health, and to live a life that sings His praises by how fully alive we are.

We can remember that when we’re waiting and when we’re flourishing. Which is awesome.

  2. Hi,
I don’t know how I came to your site, but I’m glad I did. I am so blessed to read about your healing journey and my heart is jumping because you also know the Lord and I know in my journey He is healing me everyday. I have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and adrenal exhaustion. My journey is very similar. Started with the right foods, now addressing adrenal issues, hormones. But what struck me is when you spoke about rest. When I asked the Lord what was happening to me initially, he told me to “Rest”. I didn’t realize at the time what he truly meant. I also have been on this journey for a few years and the things He has healed and continues to heal, I know it’s for a bigger purpose.

God Bless You. You are blessing so many with your story and your testimony. Again, I don’t even think I was looking up any illness and I got here. God is soooooo Good!!!!!
